‘una saltire a venezia’

The Venice Biennale is the gathering of creative thinking. In 2008 there will be a Scottish Pavilion with the theme ‘A Gathering Space’, create engineering submitted our design for A Saltire in Venice - una saltire a venezia. The St. Andrews cross would be formed from ‘I’ shaped sections of fibreglass, a variety made form 70% reconstituted milk cartons. Each side of the structure would be light enough to be carried through the narrow winding streets of Venice by two men, yet once put together would be strong enough to support cinema screens.

Although the design was not chosen to be displayed in Venice, it will be displayed in the lighthouse Centre Glasgow 23 May - 22 June 2008
