Pier 1 – Design Competition

Create were asked to enter a design competition with Alan Murray Architects to develop a scheme for a vacant site at Leith Docks.

Situated on the end of the shore in Leith and the start of Leith Docks, this proposal for a new headquarters offices building would have formed a dramatic new gateway to the emerging water front development to the North.

The proposal was for an 8 storey steel frame building with a series of Vierendeel trusses creating the cantilevers over the water for the top two floors.
